Access these four modules filled with tips, templates, and resources to support your career development. In the Careers Hub you can upload your resume and cover letter for a free review with expert feedback. Additionally, you can also book a 30-minute complimentary career coaching call with CAL’s Career Coach, Jenni, to discuss career planning, resume writing, job search strategies, interview tips, networking, and more.
This section encourages students to reflect on who they are, what their values are, their current skills and what their interests are to help make informed decisions about career goals and things to strive for. It also encourages them to reflect on what their career achievements have been so far as well, which they might like to focus on in later phases of your job search strategy. Many of our students are looking to change careers, so we’ve included a separate sub-topic for this.
This module focuses on personal branding tools, with lots of tips, templates and resources on resume writing, cover letter writing, social media and LinkedIn profiles, perfecting elevator pitches and more. There’s a section on highlighting CAL achievements, too – as students develop certain competencies through the course and throughout your studies, we encourage them to add them to their resumes and showcase their achievements.
This module contains a suite of resources on how to pursue job search in different ways, including the use of job boards and submitting applications, but also very importantly, how to access the hidden job market through networking. 75-80% of all jobs are found through the hidden job market, so you need to be doing more than just applying on online job boards if you’re seeking a new role, and this module will help you find the best ways of doing that.
This module is all about preparation and practice. It gives our students tips and strategies to go in armed with confidence so that they’re ready to deliver all the information necessary to showcase their skills and experience in an interview and win the job.
Our Career Coach takes an active role in supporting you individually to achieve your learning and career goals. Jenni offers complimentary one-on-one career coaching calls and provides you with the tips, templates, and tools you need to get to where you want to be.
During your call, our coach will take some time to get to know you and where you’re at now in your career, discuss your goals for the future, and provide guidance on how to achieve them.
Jenni has worked in the learning and development consulting and coaching space for over 25 years, working across corporate government and small business environments in that time, supporting all levels of the workforce, from frontline staff all the way up to senior managers.
Jenni has been part of the CAL team since 2017 and is thrilled to have the opportunity to work so closely with students to help them achieve their career goals.
